GDO

The GDO, which stands for "Garage Door Opener," is the common name given to the remote transmitter worn on the wrist by each SG member while off-world. It is used for security purposes to send a specific identification code, or IDC, that signals the SGC to open the iris and allow for incoming travelers. A small screen on the GDO is capable of receiving a text response such as "proceed," "do not proceed," "standby," or "hold," indicating if the iris has been opened. Each SG team has a unique remote access code, and transmitters with special codes have been given to allies such as Bra'tac, the Tok'ra, and the Hak'tyl.
