PROFESSOR MONROE

Professor Monroe, a professor of theoretical astrophysics at the US Air Force Academy, had been Carter's instructor when she was a student there. He invited Carter as a guest lecturer at the Academy, where she met Cadet Hailey, another of Professor Monroe's prodigies.
