MAYFAIR HOTEL

The Mayfair Hotel in Los Angeles was used as a base of operations during the DXS mission to prevent the assassination of Archbishop Fierro by Piedra, an international assassin.

Piedra had been taken into custody by Thornton and DXS agents, including Connors, and they used the hotel room to search and interrogate him. Although they found dozens of weapons hidden on his person, Piedra refused to talk.

The room had been used by Piedra himself, and a state-of-the-art phone in a briefcase taped to the underside of the desk had been intended to make contact with him. Instead, MacGyver answered the phone and verified the proper password, "1:24am." C. W. Smith, Piedra's paymaster, then outlined directions to retrieve the briefcase containing payment and instructions at Our Holy Father Cemetery.

MacGyver, taking Piedra's place, and Terry, believing she was working with Piedra, successfully retrieved the briefcase. However, agents Emilio and Lopez, part of Archbishop Fierro's security detail, pursued them as they left, only losing them when MacGyver punctured their tires.

MacGyver and Terry returned once more to the room at the Mayfair Hotel. Terry believed that MacGyver was Piedra and was responsible for her sister's murder, and she drew a gun, threatening to kill him. However, MacGyver was able to disarm her and convince her that he was a government agent. Together they left the hotel, only to be seized by Emilio and Lopez who had found the key that Terry had dropped and traced their location back to the Mayfair Hotel.
