C. W. SMITH

General C. W. Smith acted as the contact and paymaster for international assassin Piedra. Since Piedra would use call girls to make his pickups, Smith would also use Cheri's escort service to arrange for these women. It was Smith who had arranged for Lila to meet with Piedra, and when Piedra killed her afterward, Lila's sister Terry swore to avenge her sister's murder.

Piedra's next target was Archbishop Fierro, who was scheduled to speak at St. Marcus Convent. Smith placed a call to a state-of-the-art phone hidden in a briefcase taped to the underside of the desk in Piedra's room at the Mayfair Hotel, providing directions to pick up the briefcase with payment and instructions at Our Holy Father Cemetery. However, he did not realize that MacGyver, rather than Piedra, had answered the call, since MacGyver was able to provide the proper password, "1:24am." Smith also arranged with Cheri for another woman, and this time Terry took the assignment.

Smith himself made the drop, leaving the briefcase behind the monument in the northwest corner of the cemetery. He was recognized by Emilio and Lopez, part of Archbishop Fierro's security detail, who followed as he made the drop and then pursued Terry and MacGyver, believing MacGyver to be the assassin.
