STEPANOV

Stepanov was a Soviet secret service agent. Following the arrest of Russian dissident Alexander Karsov, Stepanov arrived at the cabin of Karsov's daughter, Marya Karsova, to place her under arrest as well. However, Marya refused, and Pete Thornton slammed the door, knocking Stepanov into the pond outside and giving Marya, Pete, and MacGyver a chance to escape.

Stepanov and his two associates attempted to pursue, but MacGyver had disabled their car by stuffing a potato into the exhaust pipe. The pursuit continued instead in high-speed boats, but MacGyver used a blanket and floating cans and life vests to jam the intake of Stepanov's boat. He lost control, but the agents were able to leap to safety before the boat exploded.
